About Black Water County

“A beautiful cacophony of distilled folk-punk bliss!”
London Celtic Punks

“Mayhem sprinkled with laughs and beer and of course some rollicking good tunes.”

The band’s festival appearances have included WOMAD, Boomtown Fair, Beautiful Days, Camp Bestival, Larmer Tree and Teddy Rocks along with hundreds of smaller UK festivals . They have also wowed crowds with festival slots across Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands and France. Since playing The Old Fire Station in 2019 and again in March 2020 for their sold-out album launch Black Water County have confirmed their first headline show at the O2 Academy Bournemouth in March 2022.

The band had three extensive UK headline tours as well as supports on the tours of a plethora of inspirational artists. Their second album ‘Comedies and Tragedies’ was released on March 13th 2020 with another sold out show at The Old Fire Station in Bournemouth, however, the promotional UK tour was halted as soon as the pandemic hit .

When creating music over the years, it has become integral for the band to acknowledge not only a balance between guts and contemplation, but a harmony of punchy pop-punk guitar and hard-hitting drums with the complex but determined layers of banjo, mandolin and tin whistle intertwined. With this, they strive to pay homage to their appreciation of folk music and the significance of punk throughout the bands upbringings.

In both 2016 and 2018, the band won a place on Fireball’s ‘Fuelling the Fire Tour’ supporting Less Than Jake, Flogging Molly, The Bronx, The Skints and Face to Face. They then subsequently had an endorsement from Fireball UK in 2019 and featured in Kerrangs online coverage of the tour. They also appeared on BBC Radio Solent with their single ‘Rise and Fall.’

About Morganway

“One of the best and most exciting prospects to emerge in a long time!”

Maverick Magazine

“Takes the breath away”

RnR Magazine

“A real one to watch”

Belwood Music

Striking six-part harmonies, energetic rhythms, catchy songs and a fiercely formidable live act – Morganway have made quite the impression on the UK’s rising Americana scene. Part country, part rock, with sprinklings of folk and something else entirely, it’s not easy categorising the band’s “delightfully unconventional sound” (Desperately Lost City).

Founded by twin brothers Callum and Kieran Morgan, the shared lead vocals of Callum and SJ Mortimer, along with the band’s love of 70s west coast rock, has drawn comparisons to Fleetwood Mac. SJ’s powerhouse voice is at the centre, part-angel, part-banshee, while Nicole Terry’s stomping fiddle creates darker, folk undercurrents coupled with Kieran’s distinctive guitar sound. Matt Brocklehurst (keys) and ‘Steady’ Eddy (drums) complete the line-up.

They released their self-titled debut album in August 2019 to widespread acclaim. With a summer of festivals including Glastonbury, Black Deer and Millport Country festival, sell-out shows in London, a national tour with CC Smugglers and a British Country Music Award Nomination for UK Band of the Year; Morganway have caught the attention of Whispering Bob, and were described by Maverick Magazine as “One of the best and most exciting prospects to emerge in a long time.”
